Thursday November 28, 2024 12:45 - 13:00 CET Main Stage
Speaker: Gerhard Hauber
Category: Presentation, Main Stage
Gerhard Hauber has been a landscape architect and planner for more than 20 years. Since 1998 he has specialized in international project management, having successfully led projects in the US, Great Britain, Australia, UAE and other countries. In his pitch he will focus on projects in Denmark, Copenhagen (Cloudburst Masterplan) and Singapore (Bishan Park) showing the successful flood management and enhancement of water quality through blue-green city transformation and a holistic approach of the sponge city concept in line with and learning from nature while always seeking to create the greatest possible synergy with the urban environment.
Bishan Park is one of Singapore’s most popular parks in the heartlands of Singapore. As part of a much-needed park upgrade and plans to improve the capacity of the Kallang channel along the edge of the park, works were carried out simultaneously to transform the utilitarian concrete channel into a naturalised river, creating new spaces for the community to enjoy.)
